MCC Advisory Council Announces New Members, Begins 2020-2022 Term

Washington, D.C., October 19, 2020 - The Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) today initiated the 2020-2022 term of the MCC Advisory Council. Created in 2016, the MCC Advisory Council provides a platform for systematic engagement and collaboration with the private sector.

The 25-member Advisory Council is an interdisciplinary group of advisors that provide MCC with external feedback from the private sector. Comprised of business leaders, economic development experts, and representatives of advocacy and non-profit organizations, the Advisory Council brings industry expertise, insights and technical recommendations to help inform MCC’s work around the world.

MCC CEO Sean Cairncross today welcomed the Advisory Council members during the first meeting of the 2020-2022 term. The new term commenced with updates on MCC’s operations, programs, and new initiatives, including new financing mechanisms. Throughout the term, members will offer insight on innovations in infrastructure, financing, technology and sustainability; perceived risks and opportunities in MCC partner countries; and best practices and lessons lesson learned in the sectors in which MCC works – all of which help MCC remain at the cutting edge of international development.

The MCC Advisory Council meets at least two times a year. Members serve two-year terms with the opportunity to serve for a total of two terms. The membership of the 2020-2022 MCC Advisory Council includes new and returning members.
