MCC takes part in pilot to test feasibility of expanding online FOIA records

July 13, 2015

July 4, 2015 was the 49th anniversary of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), the law that embodies the Federal Government’s commitment to public accountability through transparency and is the cornerstone of Open Government.  As described here, the Administration is launching pilots at seven agencies to test the feasibility of expanding online publication of records released under the FOIA. These pilots will explore ways to increase government transparency and give citizens more information about government decisions and policies.

MCC is proud to take part in this pilot!  Participation in the pilot is natural for MCC, as transparency and open data are a core business practice for us.  MCC has been ranked the most transparent donor organization in the U.S. Government, and our efforts play a significant role in President Obama’s commitment to transparency and open data. We look forward to building on our commitment to Open Government by participating in and learning from this pilot.

As the pilot begins, visit our FOIA page for updates or contact our FOIA office at foia@mcc.gov.
